Essay (4 pages double-spaced): Compare and contrast - particularly as they relate to the role of women on the Italian peninsula - the below Etruscan and Roman objects, which have been displayed at museums around the world. In your analysis of the significance of the objects, consider the following:

What do these objects tell us about the politics, economy, or society of ancient Rome and or Etruria? Do they provide any answers to questions concerning Rome's origins, rise, or fall? What do they tell us about any changes in social structure? Do they tell us anything about the nature of imperial rule?Do they shed any light on the nature and appeal of early Christianity? How do these objects compare to the textual evidence (Suetonius) you have studied? Are they reliable sources for historians?

This paper is due at the beginning of class on October 27 (October 28 for B-Day Class). The New due date is October 29 for A-Day Class and October 30 for B-Day Class. Papers are due at the beginning of your class period on the previously-mentioned date. This paper was assigned two weeks ago, no rough drafts will be reviewed for content, structure, or errors after 10/27 for A-Day Class or 10/28 for B-Day Class.
