Group Presentations Begin!

Remember, as you put the finishing touches on your presentations, your two-day lessons will be graded as follows:

Presentation Grading Criteria:

Introduction: (possible 10 points)
– Does your introduction spell out clearly what you are going to talk about, and in what order it will be presented?
– Is it presented in a way that gets your audience's attention?

Body: (possible 25 points)
– Is your information organized well?
– Do you present the major points of the issue you're talking about?
– Is the presentation appropriate for the audience?
– Is the information presented clearly?

Conclusion: (possible 10 points)
– Do you recap all the topics you presented?
– Does the audience get a clear sense of what the most important points of your presentation were?

Questions: (possible 10 points)
– Are you able to effectively field questions from the audience?

Graphics, Handouts, etc.: (possible 15 points, and each group must have handouts and/or visuals)
– Are your graphics readable?
– Do they contain the right amount of information?
– Do the graphics add to the presentation rather than distract from it?
- Do these visuals/documents help the class learn about your chapter?
– Are demos of concepts/programs provided where it would help clarify the presentation?

Delivery: (possible 30 points)
– Are transitions from topic to topic and person to person done well?
– Do the speakers maintain eye contact with the audience?
– Do the speakers avoid excessive verbalized pauses (um, ah)?
– Do the speakers use the slides to support what they're saying?
(don't read from them, but refer to them when needed to illustrate a point)
– Does the presentation appear professional?

Time (Extra Credit): Do you keep your fellow students’ engaged and involved for the full 150 minutes? (Possible 10 points)
